Neighbourhood plan referendum results revealed
Results from neighbourhood plan referendums from across the Horsham district have been announced.
All ten were successfully passed when voting took place on Thursday (May 6), the same day as the county council and Sussex PCC elections, and it will now be for Horsham District Council to formally adopt them.
A neighbourhood plan is a community-led framework used to help determine future planning applications in a particular area.
They are usually created by a parish council or a neighbourhood forum and deal with a wide range of issues such as housing, employment, heritage and transport.
Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. Here are the results:
Ashington: Yes - 796 (82.57 per cent), No - 168 (17.43 per cent).
Billingshurst: Yes - 2,388 (87.83 per cent), No -331 (12.17 per cent).
Bramber: Yes - 278 (89.68 per cent), No - 32 (10.32 per cent).
Henfield: Yes - 2,085 (90.53 per cent), No - 218 (9.47 per cent).
Rudgwick: Yes - 849 (90.71 per cent), No - 87 (9.29 per cent).
Rusper: Yes - 581 (88.03 per cent), No, 79 (11.97 per cent.
Shipley: Yes - 338 (84.50 per cent), No - 62 (15.50 per cent).
Southwater: Yes - 2,440 (82.49 per cent), No - 518 (17.51 per cent).
Upper Beeding: Yes - 999 (85.24 percent), No - 173 (14.76 per cent).
West Grinstead: Yes - 826 (78.67 per cent), No - 224 (21.33 per cent).
