The Labour Party would like to thank all those who voted Labour in the county council elections last Thursday.

We are delighted to have achieved an increase in our vote share in every seat. Support for Labour continues to grow in Horsham and despite what some of our political opponents might claim, we are very much contenders in this area.

In the 2019 local elections we pushed the Conservatives into third place in Forest ward and were the only Party challenging the Conservatives in Cow fold, Sherman bury and West Grinstead and Colgate and Rusper.

On Thursday, the local focus and brilliant campaigning of our candidates, Chris Henson, Fiona Ayres, and Simon Birnstingl saw us gain second place in Billingshurst, Henfield and Bramber Castle, where we are now the main challengers to the Tories. ‘Only Labour can beat the Tories here!’ And, across the county, Labour has achieved some amazing results with 5 new county councillors in Worthing.

In every county council seat across Horsham district the Conservative’s share of the vote fell, indicating that the electorate is increasingly dissatisfied with Conservative complacency and lack of regard for the views of the communities they are elected to represent.

Horsham Labour Party will continue to work with our county councillors to stand up for our communities, oppose cuts to services such as the children and family centres, call out Conservative waste and mismanagement, and demand the quality services we deserve.

Thank you once again and with your support we look forward to delivering even more Labour councillors at the next elections.

Secretary, Horsham Labour Party Clarence Road, Horsham
