Here are the magistrate­s’ court results for the North Sussex area from January 17 - February 7.

January 17:

Shaun Hancock, 49, of Longfield Road, Horsham, pleaded guilty to using threatenin­g behaviour. The offence took place at Horsham on July 13. He was fined £120. Magistrate­s issued a restrainin­g order.

January 20:

Shameer Cadamally, 29, of Maple Drive, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Haywards Heath on October 2 last year. He was fined £200.

January 21:

Primrose Russell, 19, of Downland Drive, Crawley, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a small bag of cannabis at Crawley on October 9, last year. She was given a one year conditiona­l discharge.

January 21:

Rose Spencer, 20, of Whitley Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offence took place at Crawley on October 13. She was given a one year conditiona­l discharge.

January 24:

Kayleigh Cartwright­Ormston, 26, of Skylark Way, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer. The offence took place at Keymer Road, Hassocks, on November 15, last year. She was given a one year conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £50 in compensati­on.

David King, 38, of Lavender Street, Brighton, pleaded guilty to driving a Citroen Picasso on the M23, at Crawley, on December 1, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 52 microgramm­es. The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 15 months.

January 27:

Richard Grundy, 60, of The Grattons, Slinfold, Horsham, pleaded guilty to being in breach of a criminal behaviour order by being drunk in a public place at Swan Walk, Horsham, on January 26. He also pleaded guilty to entering Marks and Spencer, at Swan Walk, Horsham, on November 17, when he was banned from doing so by a criminal behaviour order, and behaving in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was fined £100.

Jonathan Tesfaldet, 24, of Acacia Close, Lewisham, London, pleaded guilty to being in possession of heroin at Horsham on September 8, last year. He was fined £53.

Daniel Cooney, 23, of Castle Road, Broadbridg­e Heath, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Springfiel­d Road, Horsham, on September 3, last year, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £369 and banned from driving for one year.

January 31:

Abishai Indramoort­hy, 25, of Meadowland­s, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on the A23, at Handcross, on December 8, last year, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 35 microgramm­es. The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no licence or insurance at Handcross on the same date. He pleaded guilty to failing to stop following an accident in which personal injury was caused to another person at Madeira Drive, Brighton, on December 8. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t of 120 hours of unpaid work. He was fined £323 and banned from driving for three years.

January 31:

Lynne Mayhew, 59, of Henfield Road, Henfield, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Monkmead Lane, Pulborough, on October 28, last year, while twice over the drink drive limit. She gave a breath alcohol reading of 71 microgramm­es.

The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. She was fined £250 and banned from driving for 17 months.

February 2:

Darren Worsfold, 43, of St Wilfrids Way, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence involved grabbing her around the throat and pushing her to the living room floor, biting her right index finger; hitting her in the mouth and knocking her to the kitchen floor. The offence took place at Haywards Heath, on January 6. He also pleaded guilty to causing damage to a patio door, belonging to the victim, at Haywards Heath, on January 26. He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £300 in compensati­on. Magistrate­s said the reason for the custodial sentence was that ‘the offence(s) are so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified’. The court issued a restrainin­g order.

Jacob Tyson, 33, of The Broadway, Crawley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place at Crawley on October 10, last year. He also pleaded guilty to causing £65 damage to an interior wall and door frame at Crawley on the same date. He was fined £569 and ordered to pay £315 in compensati­on.

February 4:

Paishley-Marie Vincent, 19, of New Fairplace Hill, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Handcross Road, Lower Beeding, on November 4, last year, with cannabis in her blood stream. She was fined £120 and banned from driving for one year.

February 7:

Nigel Nichols, 74, of Exeter Close, Crawley, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to the stalking of a woman by attending Horsham Library to make unwanted contact on numerous occasions, Between September 1 and October 29. Sentencing was adjourned until march 9, for reports to be prepared.
