MANNINGS HEATH GOLF

With the course having survived the ravages of Storm Eunice and clubhouse reopened with power restored, Mannings Heath Ladies got back into their stride with a 14-hole fun competition.

The theme was Triple Five with participants able to treble the points earned on their five best holes.

To make bag carrying easier during the temporary trolley ban they were also restricted to four clubs and a putter.

With a nett par worth two points the notional par of the Triple Five format was 48, so Julie Law, playing off 17 , had good reason to be delighted with her winning card of 58.

On another day runner-up Rosemary Martin might have expected the first place money with her excellent 53.

The battle for third place saw Lynne Jones, Brenda James and Mina Burton all post 46 before countback assigned Jones third place.
