Horsham Music Circle promises magical concert

A magical afternoon of entertainm­ent is the promise for Saturday, March 19 at 4.30pm in the Causeway Barn with the presentati­on of Aspects of Opera. The music is being hosted by Horsham Music Circle. Spokeswoma­n Jill Elsworthy said: “Helen Whittingto­n, soprano, Sarah Ince, mezzo soprano and James Kinsella, tenor are joined by pianist Janet Bishop. Their programmes always feature a wide variety of music to suits all tastes with arias, duets and trios taken from opera, operetta, musicals and popular songs.

This performanc­e includes everyone’s favourite arias from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Puccini’s La Boheme, Gianni Schicchi and Tosca, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Bizet’s Carmen, and Porgy & Bess by Gershwin, moving to the much loved tunes of Lehar and Johann Strauss, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Rogers & Hammerstei­n, Lerner and Lowe, Mitch Leigh and Barry Manilow. Helen is well known to Horsham audiences having performed for the Music Circle on several occasions. She has wide solo concert experience and has performed with a range of UK opera companies and toured the USA with London City Opera. Sarah’s solo work has been in concert and oratorio performanc­es, and as a choral singer she has performed in all London’s finest concert venues with world-renowned performers and conductors. “The London-based Irish tenor James performed for the Music Circle in 2015 at the New Year Viennese concert. “A versatile singer with a diverse repertoire, he has a busy concert and oratorio career in both the UK and Southern Ireland.
