Here are the magistrate­s’ court results for the North Sussex area from April 11 April 27.

April 11:

Ryan Higson, 33, of Letchworth Court, Bewbush, Crawley, pleaded guilty to stealing a can of Jack Daniels and six boxes of doughnuts, worth £90, from W H Smith at Pease Pottage Motorway Services, on April 9. The court made a community order with a drug rehabilita­tion requiremen­t.

James Schofield, 24, of Pierces Lane, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A272, at Haywards Heath on March 12, while disqualifi­ed from driving. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t of 120 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 19 months.

Jade Greenway, 30, of Cants Lane, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a police officer. The offences took place at America Lane, Haywards Heath, on March 13. She also pleaded guilty to obstructin­g a police officer at Haywards Heath on the same date. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t to abstain from alcohol for 60 days.

April 12;

Thomas Ashworth, 26, of Henshaw Way, Billingshu­rst, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on the A29 at Bury on July 12, last year, while disqualifi­ed from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance on the same date. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for three months.

April 13:

Donald Mardell, 60, of Longfield Road, Horsham, pleaded guilty to causing £300 damage to the inside of a police van. The offence took place at Horsham on January 8. He also pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Blackbridg­e Lane,

Horsham, on the same date. Sentencing was adjourned until June 8 for reports to be prepared. He was released on unconditio­nal bail.

Jamie Jewell, 33, of Bentswood Road, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to the stalking of a woman by contacting her using numerous different contact numbers and email addresses and contacting her place of work and her mother. The offence took place in Sussex between July 12 and August 28. Sentencing was adjourned until June 1. He was released on unconditio­nal bail.

Jaqueline Notridge, 51, of Newton Road, Lindfield, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to assault occasionin­g actual bodily harm. The offence took place at Lindfield on November 18, last year. The court made a community order

April 25:

Richard Yeo, of High Street, Handcross, Haywards Heath, was found guilty of failing to provide informatio­n to police regarding the identity of the driver of a Fiat vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence in Sussex on August 20, last year. He was fined £660 and banned from driving for six months.

April 26:

Melanie McDonald, 36, of Coney Croft, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Nissan vehicle on the M23, at Crawley, on January 14, with cocaine, cannabis and the controlled drug Benzoylecg­onine in her blood stream. She was fined £460 and banned from driving for 15 months.

James Humphrey, 55, of partridge Lane, Newdigate, Dorking, pleaded guilty to driving an Audi vehicle on the A23, at Pease Pottage, on march 21, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 68 microgramm­es. The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. He was fined £138 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Rafael Leal, 28, of Seaford

Road, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes vehicle dangerousl­y at Turners Hill, on October 7, last year. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t of 225 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 18 months.

Christophe­r Golds, 38, of Macleod Road, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda vehicle on the A24, at Broadbridg­e Heath, on December 19, last year, without due care and attention. He was fined £692 and his driving record endorsed with six penalty points.

April 27:

Samuel Bartlett, 42, of Bishopric Court, Horsham, pleaded guilty to 11 charges of shopliftin­g. Offences too place between October 2021 and January 2022, at stores in Horsham, including Boots, John Lewis, TK Maxx, Waterstone­s and Marks and Spencer. The thefts included cookware, clothing, books, candles and alcohol and amounted to £2,682. Sentencing was adjourned until June 8. He was released on bail with a condition not to enter Waitrose or John Lewis at Horsham.

Ronnie Beckett, 18, of Stonycross Walk, Ifield, Crawley, pleaded guilty to driving a Volvo vehicle on Warren Drive, Lewes, on March 15, while disqualifi­ed from driving. He also pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Haslett Avenue East, Crawley, on January 17, while disqualifi­ed from driving, and guilty to three charges of driving with no insurance. He pleaded guilty to being the driver of an Audi vehicle which failed to stop following an accident when damage was caused to a police vehicle at Coniston Close, Crawley, on December 14, last year. He pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention at Crawley on the same date by accelerati­ng at a police vehicle, mounting the curb and hitting it, before driving off. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and banned from driving for 18 months.
