Singles night brings darts league season to great end
The H&W Dart League held their singles competitions and presentation night at Southwater Club.
Their were 31 entries in the A Division singles and 25 in the B Division. There was a 180 from Clive Gee and 105 finish from Russell Hunt. The A Division competition, renamed The Tony Ayres Cup in memory of possibly the best player to grace the league, was won by Aegir Bjornsson, ahead of Alex Gurr . In the B Division Ady Davey lost to Chris Carpenter in the final, watched by a boisterous crowd. There was a play off for the most 180s trophy, won by Andy Short
The evening started with a presentation of a cheque for £1,200 to Queen Elizabeth II School, raised by donations from entry fees.
Collecting the cheque was Emily Jones from Neil Harding, chairman of Southwater Club, and Andy Mason, league chairman
The league thanked Southwater Club for help and sponsorship, Tony Harris and Mick Sykes for organising competitions, Tony Holland for sorting out finance and chairman Andy Mason for whatever he did!
Thanks went to all the dart players who contributed to the £1,200.
