Group enjoy talk on lady racing drivers
In January The Friends of Worthing Museum greeted Richard Atkins for his offbeat talk – ‘Lady Racing Drivers 1900-1939’.
A spokesman said, “They were brave driving with no floor, cobbled together seating and scant braking power. It was great seeing photographs of events and fashions of the day. Scary movie footage of the Brooklands track where Barbara Cartland raced demonstrated these ladies’ driving skills.” The next meeting takes place on February19 at 2.30pm for Rev Tony Trevithick’s talk ‘Prison Chaplaincy’. Venue Worthing Library Lecture Theatre.
