Photographers are invited to enter competition
Amateur photographers are being invited to enter the Chichester Ship Canal Trust’s 2021 competition.
The trust received many high-quality entries last year and is hoping people will take advantage of the fresh air along the canal to find some inspiration again.
The subject matter of the entries must be Chichester Canal – but could be of anything from its people or wildlife to scenery or architecture.
First prize is a voucher to the value of £150 for photography training with Imber Court Photo Training in Selsey.
Ashley Gardner, principal of Imber Court, said: “We are delighted to sponsor this competition once again.
“The canal offers so many excellent subjects for amateur photographers and you can always count on a warm welcome from the canal volunteers.”
Second prize is a boat trip for four along the canal on Kingfisher, which provides a beautiful and unique way of experiencing the canal from the water.
Catherine Cannon, a trustee at Chichester Ship Canal Trust, said: “We are greatly indebted to Ashley for his continuing support and to the directors of the Canal Trading organisation.
“We know that both businesses have been adversely impacted by the pandemic and hope that Imber Court’s photography holidays and the canal boat trips can be reinstated soon.
“Being such a good resource for amateur photographers to enjoy the fresh air and capture the scenery, we are looking forward to receiving and reviewing the entries.”
Entry is free – send your stunning snaps to ccphotos@ chichestercanal.com by July 31 to be in with a chance of winning.
