Winners of this year’s Sussex Food and Drink awards are announced
It is time to celebrate the best of Sussex produce as the winners have been announced in the Sussex Food and Drink Awards.
Theawards,carriedoverfrom 2020, received 17,000 public votes.
Thewinnersare:SussexFood Producer of the Year, sponsored by Southern Co-op: Jengers CraftBakery,Billingshurst,West Sussex.
Mark Sheath from Jengers Bakery said: “I am so proud of what we have achieved in seven years of trading. We are passionate about baking and this award means so much to the entire team.”
Sussex Drink Producer of the Year, sponsored by Natural PR winner: Long Man Brewery, Litlington, East Sussex.
Sussex Butcher of the Year, sponsored by RP Meats Wholesale Ltd winner: Tablehurst Farm, Forest Row, East Sussex.
Sussex Farmers Market of the Year, sponsored by Harvey’s Brewery the winner was Lewes Farmers Market, East Sussex.
Sussex Eating Experience of the Year, sponsored by Lloyds Bank Cardnet was awarded to The Fig Tree, Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex.
Sussex Food Shop of the Year, sponsored by Sussex Food and Drink Network the winner was RushfieldsFarmShop,Poynings, West Sussex.
Sussex Newcomer of the Year, sponsored by SRC-Time the winner was Heritage by Matt Gillan, Slaugham, West Sussex.
SussexStreetFoodoftheYear, sponsored by Horsham District FoodiessupportedbyFoodRocks was won by Mann & Moore, Horsham, West Sussex.
Sussex Young Chef of the Year, sponsored by Blakes Foods winner-DanIbbotsonfrometch. in Brighton & Hove.
He said: “It’s amazing to have won this and will be a huge stepping stone forward for me, hopefully helping me secure great future jobs.”
Dan Hird, from Lambert Farm, Plumpton, East Sussex won Young Sussex Farmer of the Year, sponsored by Natural Partnerships CIC in association with Farmers Weekly magazine.

Winners and grand finalists will be able to celebrate at an outdoor summer party in July at Borde Hill Gardens.
