News Bulletin Historic signs updated

-

The fingerpost signs in Midhurst have been updated to reflect the changed locations of some of the town’s amenities.

A spokesman for Midhurst Town Council said: “Fingerposts were removed across much of the country during World War II, lest enemy forces use them for navigation, and were replaced in the late 1940s.

“Although many towns have moved away from the more traditional method of signposting, the fingerposts are in-keeping with our historic town and look very smart.”

There are five fingerposts currently positioned throughout Midhurst.
