Green light for The Ivy

Plans for an illuminated menu board and signage at The Ivy, which is due to open in Chichester in the spring, have been given the green light.

The application was given the nod at a Chichester District Council planning committee last Wednesday, despite concerns that the design was out of keeping with the historic city centre.

Proposed illuminated signage prompted an objection from Chichester City Council which it argued would harm the character and appearance of the conservation area.

Planning officers, though, recommended the application for approval – and members agreed unanimously.
