MP hosts meeting to discuss farming issues

The meeting was hosted by farmer Will Tupper at Parsonage Farm.
Mr Griffith met farmers from Wiston, Petworth, Angmering and Battle to hear their views on a range of issues includingthechallengesoffood production, farm tenancies, carbon credits and fuel.
He said: “I value the regular dialoguewithlocalfarmersand am always happy to support them by taking back their comments to Westminster.
“I fully share farmers ambitions to see the UK more self-sufficient in high quality food production whilst protecting our South Downs landscape and habitats.”
More than 80 per cent of the South East is classified as rural, and NFU members manage around a fifth of the land in the Arundel and South Downs constituency, employing well over 2,000 people.
