With the South East a relatively prosperous region in comparison to other parts of the country, it could easily be left behind.
But the government must remember that there is much work to do here.
The A27 for example has been denied meaningful improvements for decades – not just at Arundel but at other pinch points, too.
And while the Prime Minister pledged a future away from ‘jamming’ the South East with homes last year, policies still fail to help facilitate realistic housebuilding targets.
