The Petworth Park Antiques and Fine Art Fair is back for another year, returning on Friday, May 13 until Sunday, May 15.

The annual fair will attract about 60 exhibitors from across England, selling prestigious items spanning the centuries, ranging from furniture, jewellery, paintings and sculptures to vintage watches.

Members of the National Trust will be entitled to free entry to the fair.

Admission for nonmembers will cost £10 and will include complimentary access to Petworth House and Park over the event’s three days.

Fair organiser Ingrid Nilson said: “Over the last seven years, we have been fortunate to build up an impressive following of Sussex residents and others coming from neighbouring counties in the south of England, as well as the interior design trade.

“We have a good core of loyal dealers, who always put on an impressive show, added to which we like to have a few new exhibitors.

“We pride ourselves on providing a relaxing venue for visitors to enjoy a day out or even a weekend with all that is offered by the market town.”

Furniture dealers taking part in the eighth annual fair will include William Cook Antiques, Mark Buckley Antiques and Jeroen Markies Art Deco.

Joining the fair for the first time will be Karen Taylor Fine Art, which will bring a group of 18th and 19th century views of Sussex created by some of the masters of the Golden Age of British watercolours.

One especially renowned piece is Wooded Landscape with Track and Pool, a black chalk drawing by Thomas Gainsborough RA, priced in the region of £25,000.

Local caterers Cherry’s Deli will provide refreshments of coffee, ‘luxury’ cake and lunches of local cheeses and artisan breads for visitors to enjoy while overlooking the park.

The fair, held in the Marquee at Petworth House, will be open from 11am-6pm on Friday, 10.30am-6pm on Saturday and 10.30am-5pm on Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased online through EventBrite.
