Sign up for first coastal art trail

-

Registration is now open for the first Bognor Coastal Art Trail.

Covering the seven-mile strip that stretches from Pagham to Elmer, the idea is to showcase the great art and artists living and working in Bognor Regis.

Su Cloud, who is setting it up, said: “We are inviting local artists to join the trail. The art trail runs the first two weekends in July.”

Registration closes on February 28. Artists should register for the event through bognorcoastalarttrail.com.

“I have run a smaller coastal art trail for the last four years. We did one for Christmas and we did one in the summer last year. It was just nine or ten artists. It was quite small scale and it was quite successful.

“This is now a completely new venture. This is the brand-new Bognor Coastal Art Trail. People say art trail and they think of Chichester and I was involved with the Chichester one for more than 20 years.”

But this is now focusing on Bognor: “We are looking at a maximum of 40 studios for this year.

“It’s the first year and I want it to be manageable. I don’t want it be too big anyway. I don’t want it to be as large as the Chichester art trail. I just want it to be that coastal strip of seven miles and really just to showcase what art and culture are going on in Bognor.”
