Spring concert at town’s church
The Boundstone Chorus will performtheirspringconcert at 7.30pm on Saturday (March 12) at St Michael and All Angels Church, Lancing. The programme will feature three pieces which the choir have been rehearsing this term.
Musical director Aedan Kerney said: “The opening Missa Festiva by the American John Leavitt is considered one of the most important choral works of our time and is gaining the same popularity here as in the United States and on the continent. Each of its movements is beautifully set with strength and dignity: Kyrie – a wonderful flowing melody that builds sensitively; Gloria – opening with strength and drive, then exploring delightful harmonies before coming to a big finish; Credo – inspired by mediaeval plainsong; Agnus Dei – another gorgeous melody. Born in Kansas in 1956 John Leavitt has spent his professional life as a teacher, composer, conductor and writer.”
