Lauded guitarist to give recital
West Sussex Guitar Club is inviting all music enthusiasts to its recital by Laura Snowden on Saturday (April 30) at 7.30pm at the Regis School of Music, Sudley Road, Bognor Regis.
Spokeswoman Teresa Henley said: “Laura was awarded a scholarship to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School and she was the first guitarist to graduate from the school. She was selected by Julian Bream to continue his legacy of performing new commissions, through his Trust, by leading contemporary composers such as Julian Anderson, Errolyn Wallen and Olli Mustonen. Laura herself is anaward-winningcomposer and four of her pieces will be performed for us.
“Home is a poignant homage to Julian, capturing the stillness he enjoyed at the end of his career and the care he felt for the detail of the small things in life, nature, relationships and the home.”
