Parish plants trees
Yapton Parish Council has planted seven oak trees under the Queens Green Canopy project.
Clark Andrew Gardiner said: “We chose oaks as we have veteran oaks in the villag, and they have royal association. Oaks are also great for biodiversity.
“A total of seven oaks were planted one for each decade of the Queen’s reign. The trees have been planted on the King George V Playing Field.
“The parish council would like to thank councillors Pippa Greenan and Mark Andrews for researching and organising the purchase and delivery of the seven trees from the Arundel Arboretum.”
