Mini Mile megastars

-

Do you have a budding athlete in the family? We all know exercise is of paramount importance for wellbeing, especially for children.

That’s why I’m so thrilled that Chestnut Tree House has teamed up with the exciting Mini Mile at Brighton Marathon Weekend. The one-mile race will take place in Preston Park on April 1 and all entrants will receive a medal and T-shirt as well as enjoying the electric atmosphere of the event village. Children’s hospice care is only possible thanks to our local community, and we’re extremely grateful to our supporters for their generosity and support. It’s especially inspiring to see children getting involved in fundraising events like this. The Mini Mile is a great way for them to get active and have fun at the same time, while also knowing that every penny they raise is going to support other children in the area who need hospice care. Children can be amazingly generous with their time and resources. Late last year, nine-year-old Esmae from Crawley cut her long hair to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House – and most remarkably, it was the second time she’d done this! When Pumpkin Patch Nursery in Worthing were choosing a charity on which to focus their year’s fundraising efforts, they liked the idea of the children helping other children. Now staff, children and families are working together to help hospice families make magical memories together. Our community fundraisers are always happy to visit schools and clubs – if you’d like to arrange a visit, please contact hello@chestnut.org.uk For more on the Mini Mile, go to brightonmarathonweekend.co.uk/events/mini-mile
