‘Tal­ented’ teacher dies sud­denly

A DORSET school was closed yes­ter­day af­ter an “ex­tremely tal­ented” teacher died sud­denly.

Gilling­ham School’s English and me­dia teacher, Ian Mur­ray, died on Wed­nes­day night, ac­cord­ing to a post on the school web­site.

Mr Mur­ray had worked at the school for 11 years and had pro­vided “ex­em­plary ser­vice”.

A let­ter to par­ents told of the school’s “deep re­gret” and added: “I have been work­ing along­side the Dorset County Coun­cil crit­i­cal in­ci­dent Team and we are treat­ing this as an emer­gency in­ci­dent.”
