Irish cobs head bumper entry of horses and ponies

-

A REDUCTION sale of quality Irish cobs is expected to lead bidding at Exeter Livestock Centre.

Ranging from breeding mares to youngstock, the horses hailing from a Chudleigh-based breeder will form part of a bumper entry of 70 horses and ponies at the Kivells market on Tuesday, November 6.

Auctioneers say several from the dispersal are mares with foals at foot, all boasting bloodlines going back many generations.

In addition to the Irish Cobs, there will be a consignment of riding horses and ponies from one yard near North Tawton, ranging from 14hh to 16.2hh. Coming in from central Devon is a trio of grey donkeys, with a further 20 on offer from yards and farms across Devon and Cornwall.

The sale will get under way at 10.30am with the auction of 650 lots of saddlery and tack, including the first consignment from a Chard shop which has ceased trading.

Kivells equine auctioneer, James Morrish, said: “A warm welcome awaits everyone at Exeter Market, with refreshments served all day and free parking.”
