THE motocross committee of the Auto-Cycle Union has released the dates for next year’s British Motocross Championships – but not the venues and it is not certain that the series will continue to be backed by Maxxis Tyres.

However, the series kicks-off on March 3, followed by April 14, May 5, June 12, July 21, August 11 and September 15, with a reserve date of October 13.

For the next couple of months, though, the focus is all on trials and there are four events taking place in the West tomorrow.

The Mendip Vale Club are running their Brockley Cup event at Croxbottom Farm, Chilcompton, with an expected entry of 50-plus,. Entries will be accepted up to half an hour before the 10.30am start.

Andy Frost, winner of the North Somerset Club’s timed and observation trial at Charterhouse-onMendip last Sunday, is expected to be among an entry of 50- plus in the BSSA’s Alan Brown series timed and observation event in Filers Woods, Backwell Hill, at the back of Bristol Airport, with plenty of rivals expected.

Competitors throughout Devon and Cornwall will be making for the Torridge Club’s trial at Halwill junction, near Beauworthy, which is the seventh round of the Si Higgins Aggregate Trophy series.

The Western Classic Club’s Guy Fawkes Road Trial is also on tomorrow’s menu, setting out from Oakridge Lynch.
