Father dies from stab wounds
AFATHER-OF-TWO has died from stab wounds after an incident which also left his wife fighting for her life.
The man, named locally as 35-year-old Craig Stewart, was found with fatal injuries at an address in Bristol on Thursday evening
A woman, understood to be his wife Natalie, was taken to hospital and was said to have suffered “lifethreatening injuries”.
Police put a cordon in place after the incident in Cambridge Street, off Avonvale Road in the Redfield area of the city.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “We can confirm that, sadly, a man has died after suffering stab wounds in an incident at an address in the Red- field area of Bristol.
“We were called to a property off Avonvale Road just after 5pm to reports that two people had suffered life-threatening injuries.
“A woman is still in a critical condition in hospital.
“This is believed to be isolated incident and we are currently not looking for anyone in connection with our investigation.”
Police initially reported that paramedics were treating the man at the scene after the woman was taken to hospital.
A spokesman previously added: “The two victims are known to each other.”
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed that they attended but wouldn’t comment further.
Police have appealed for anyone with information that might help their investigation to come forward.
