Body of man found in house

CRIME scene investigators have been searching a house in Yate, South Gloucestershire, after the body of a man was found.

Officers were called to Stanshawe Crescent at 7.10am on Thursday.

The force is treating the death as unexplained and a post mortem examination was due to be carried out yesterday.

Police were reportedly carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area.

A witness said police had been knocking on doors, and added: “Most neighbours are aware something has happened, but nobody knows what.

“I don’t know the people that live in the house they are investigating, but neighbours saw them going about their daily business on regular occasions. They always kept themselves to themselves and were very quiet people.”
