Dray: Task is getting a bit harder

-

TAUNTON head of football Rob Dray says his side’s reputation in the Premier Division South is growing day-by-day.

He told the Daily Press: “Teams are getting to know how we play. It makes games a little tougher.”

Taunton, promoted at the end of last season, go into today’s home game against sixth-placed Harrow Borough looking to extend their advantage at the top of the division.

Despite not playing last week and being without a game for ten days, Taunton are still five points clear of Weymouth, in second, who are at home to Frome today and have two games in hand.

Third-placed Salisbury are also at home – to Wimborne Town.

Dray added: “It was nice to have a Saturday off. It enabled the likes of Matt Wright (skipper) to recover from one or two knocks.”

The only player likely to be missing from Taunton’s line-up today is former Exeter City youngster Harry Gardner, who is having trials in Spain and will be away for a fortnight.

Meanwhile, Douglas Camilo is back from Brazil and has been training all this week.

“Harrow are a good side – we’ve had reports on them and we’ve prepared well,” said Dray.

Salisbury, meanwhile, will hope to maintain their charge for promotion with visiting Wimborne hovering just four points above the drop zone.

Frome, in the relegation zone themselves and in need of points from their trip to Weymouth, have allowed Kane Simpson to move to lower-division Evesham, but have added to their squad with the work experience loan signing of young Bristol Rovers midfielder Tom Mehew.

Elsewhere, Swindon Supermarine have a crucial clash away to fellow strugglers Chesham.
