Rodman: Support has been incredible

BRISTOL Rovers winger Alex Rodman has thanked the fans for their strong turnouts this season, despite the club’s struggles.

The Pirates have won two matches on the bounce to climb out of the relegation zone and were been backed by vociferous support as they did so.

Yet even when things were going poorly this season, Rovers fans have turned out in numbers to support their side, and wide man Rodman, pictured, was full of praise for the Gasheads.

He said: “It’s incredible. We’ve talked about it in the changing room how vocal they are and how good they are.

“My dad’s been to the last couple, he went to Sunderland and he went to Walsall and he said the vocal support, right in the thick of it, was fantastic.

“The noise they made up at Sunderland was incredible and it’s certainly not lost on us – they play a big part of it and taking a strong following like that to the away games is brilliant.”

Rovers have sold out their allocation for today’s trip to Oxford United, and Rodman feels that during a busy period such as Christmas, this can provide players with an added boost.

He said: “Absolutely – I’m sure I’ve seen on some social media about Sunderland supporters commending them as being the best fans there this year.
