Let taxpayers decide location of arena

Western Daily Press (Saturday) - - Opinion -

WOULDN’T it be great, and very democratic, if the people of Bristol were offered a say by the mayor in where the city’s new arena is to go?

Most people seem to prefer Temple Meads as the site. The issue is cost.

If people want a cut-price, outof-town arena, not close to public transport, then fine, but at least let people see the facts and then decide. That would be open and democratic.

If most taxpayers in Bristol prefer Temple Meads and don’t mind a bit more on their bills to pay for it, then why not? Alan Lipton
