Skiverton becomes head of coaching in Academy

-

YEOVIL Town have appointed club stalwart Terry Skiverton to the role of head of coaching within the Academy section at Huish Park.

Skiverton stepped down from his position of first-team assistant boss in mid-December and will now take his nine-and-a-half years’ experience as a manager and assistant into the Academy role.

Gabby Rogers, Daniel Ojo and Devon Arnold have all made their senior debuts this season to become the first to make the graduation in three years.

Skiverton, pictured, revealed he was excited about the next chapter in his career at the League Two club.

He said: “This is a new challenge and a new role in a different part of the club for me.

“I’m looking forward to working as part of the Academy and with the Academy coaches such as Terry Moore, Ian Thompson and Darren Behcet, who have driven the department to the next level along with Academy manager Jamie Harrison.

Harrison himself added: “It is a fantastic opportunity for our coaches and players to develop and work with Terry, who will bring his vast knowledge, experience and great character to the position.

“Terry has all the credentials to help us achieve our vision and it is an exciting time to be a part of Yeovil Town FC Academy.”

Meanwhile, the Yeovil first team must attempt to arrest a worrying slump in form when high-flying Bury visit Huish Park this afternoon.

The Glovers have sunk to fourthfrom-bottom place in League Two, just three points above the drop zone, while fourth-placed Bury are a mere two points shy of the automatic promotion spots.
