Man charged with wounding

A 72-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with wounding with intent after an incident at a quiet Somerset village.

A man is his 20s was assaulted and suffered stomach injuries in Stoke St Gregory on Wednesday.

It is believed an air ambulance attended the scene in Church Close at around 10.40pm.

The victim was rushed to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

Police have said the injuries are not “life-threatening or lifechanging”.

Frederick Day, of Church Close, Stoke St Gregory has been charged with wounding with intent.
