Yeovil strengthen squad with Grant and Dobre
YEOVIL Town have signed Chelsea defender Josh Grant and Bournemouth winger Alex Dobre on loan for the rest of the League Two season.
Grant, 20, has made four appearances for Chelsea’s Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy this term, but has yet to appear for the senior side at Stamford Bridge.
“Josh is powerful, athletic and has a good personality,” Glovers boss Darren Way told the club’s official website. “This is a great opportunity for him to get regular first-team football and I’m pleased to have brought him in.”
Romania Under-21 player Dobre, 20, was on loan at Rochdale and Bury last term, and now makes the move to South Somerset.
“I’d like to thank Eddie Howe for allowing an international talent to continue his development with us,” Way added.
Born in Bucharest, Dobre was snapped up by the Cherries from Romanian top-flight outfit Viitorul Constanta, who are managed and now owned by legendary midfielder Gheorghe Hagi.
Way continued: “It’s taken a lot of hard work and consideration from AFC Bournemouth to get this deal over the line.”
Yeovil will attempt to arrest their poor form away to Mansfield this afternoon.
Jermaine McGlashan says Swindon Town will be well-drilled in how Lincoln will set up as they visit the County Ground today.
McGlashan came off the bench and it was his 70-yard jet-heeled run that set up the winner against Macclesfield last week.
He says that speed is one way to hurt a team, but Town will be looking for more than that to beat the league leaders.
McGlashan said: “We know all about them from the first game and we’ll be well-drilled and show them respect. We’ve started work on them and we’re looking forward to it.
“Speed is one way of skinning a cat – but there’s plenty of other ways and we’ll look at ways to impose our game on them and that will be the focus. By Saturday, we’ll know where we want to hit them and hurt them.
“It’s so hard because the next day is recovery and you’re recovering to go again and you can’t get your point across in terms of the way you want to play with the amount of change of players for the next game.
“It’s such a relief to have a full week to prepare and do your shape work and have a structured week. I’m a little bit older now so the recover is key – you benefit from it more.
Swindon are currently 12th in the League Two standings, seven points off a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
