Glovers lose wide man Green to Barnsley
YEOVIL Town winger Jordan Green has joined League One side Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
However, coming in the door at Huish Park is midfielder Matt Worthington, who joins from AFC Bournemouth on a contract until the summer of 2021.
Skilful wide man Green, pictured, arrived on a free from Bournemouth in August 2017, and scored eight goals in 68 appearances for the Glovers, playing an important role in the run to the FA Cup fourth round last season; helping secure a home tie with Manchester United at Huish Park.
This season, he scored a brace in the 6-0 win at Newport County in September as part of the club’s biggest-ever victory in the EFL.
And his parting gift was netting the winner in last weekend’s 1-0 win at Mansfield.
Yeovil manager Darren Way said: “I’m disappointed to lose Jordan, but I feel extremely proud that he becomes the latest player we’ve developed and nurtured.
“We tried extremely hard to secure Jordan’s long-term future, but ultimately we were unable to stand in the player’s way.”
Worthington, 21, made 19 appearances for the Glovers in a loan spell last season and spent the first half of this campaign on loan at Forest Green Rovers.
Way said: “Matt is a very promising player who knows what this division is all about.”
