Man and woman arrested after boy stabbed

-

TWO people have been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Bristol on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to Webb Street at around 8.15pm after an incident which is believed to have happened nearby.

A 17-year-old suffered stab injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

Police said his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Yesterday, Avon and Somerset Constabulary confirmed it has arrested two people on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman remain in custody.

Police believe the incident happened in a car park off Stapleton Road, close to Twinnell House. Stapleton Road itself was partially blocked following the altercation, as police and paramedics descended on the area.

An eyewitness at the scene described around nine police cars on the scene, as well as two ambulances and other emergency response vehicles.

DI Roger Doxsey said: “Officers and police staff are carrying out a number of actions today including forensic examinations, a review of CCTV footage and house-tohouse inquiries. We’re also speaking to a number of witnesses to take statements.

“A car has been seized as part of this inquiry.”
