FOREST Green assistant manager Scott Lindsey is spending some time away from the club to deal with a family matter, writes Robert Iles.

The club revealed the news on Twitter with the message: “We’re with you Scotty!”

He has been number two at the New Lawn for the past three years, joining the club following his role as manager of Swindon Town Under-18s, where he previously worked with Cooper.

Lindsey helped Rovers reach the Football League for the first time with promotion via the National League play-offs in the 2016-17 season.

Rovers are away to Bath City at Twerton Park in their final preseason friendly today (3pm) before they start their League Two campaign at home to Oldham Athletic next Saturday.
