Too much football will swamp our TVs

- Colin Richey Tiverton, Devon

I KNOW I am virtually on my own when I say that the vicious virus which has destroyed all our lives has given me a well earned rest from interminable soccer programmes. What joy!

No longer do I have to see players spitting and going bonkers when they score a goal as though they have found a cure to a nasty disease!

And what is more I don’t have to listen to Gary Lineker and his football pundits describing every move and every missed goal... who cares?

When I was a schoolboy – oh so many years ago – football was a game to be watched and admired but now it is no longer a sport, it is big business.

Players and managers expect to be paid vast sums and live like pop stars.

Unfortunately that will never change and when football is once again swamping our TV screens, my joy will return to despair.

Oh well that’s life!
