Officer charged with bid to record woman in changing room

A POLICE officer will appear in court after being charged with attempting to observe and record a woman in a police changing area.

The alleged offence took place at Police Headquarte­rs in Waterwells, Quedgeley, Gloucester in February 2019.

PC Jonathan Easton has been charged with two offences under the Criminal Attempts Act following an investigat­ion

Constabula­ry.

Police have now confirmed that the 32-year-old will appear at Newport Crown Court on Monday, April 12.

“PC Jonathan Eaton, 32, is charged with two offences under the Criminal Attempts Act and is due to stand trial at Newport Crown Court from Monday 12 April, following an investigat­ion by Gloucester­shire Constabula­ry.

“These offences relate to an attempt made to observe and record a woman in a changing area at police headquarte­rs in Waterwells,

Quedgeley, Gloucester, in February 2019.

“Eaton, who was training to become a Detective Constable in CID, was suspended from duty upon charges being brought, pending the outcome of misconduct proceeding­s.

“The force cannot comment further due to the pending legal proceeding­s.”
