Officer charged with bid to record woman in changing room

A POLICE officer will appear in court after being charged with attempting to observe and record a woman in a police changing area.

The alleged offence took place at Police Headquarters in Waterwells, Quedgeley, Gloucester in February 2019.

PC Jonathan Easton has been charged with two offences under the Criminal Attempts Act following an investigation

Constabulary.

Police have now confirmed that the 32-year-old will appear at Newport Crown Court on Monday, April 12.

“PC Jonathan Eaton, 32, is charged with two offences under the Criminal Attempts Act and is due to stand trial at Newport Crown Court from Monday 12 April, following an investigation by Gloucestershire Constabulary.

“These offences relate to an attempt made to observe and record a woman in a changing area at police headquarters in Waterwells,

Quedgeley, Gloucester, in February 2019.

“Eaton, who was training to become a Detective Constable in CID, was suspended from duty upon charges being brought, pending the outcome of misconduct proceedings.

“The force cannot comment further due to the pending legal proceedings.”
