‘No funny business’ this bank holiday

-

AN area of the South West issued a warning ahead of the bank holiday weekend against – kissing.

On social media Plymouth City Council urged people not to get drunk and kiss outdoors because “you don’t know where they’ve been”.

The council has warned the public about “funny business” and told residents not to snog strangers in parks or beer gardens in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

It wrote: “Baaank Holidaaaay [sic] and in the immortal words of Kool and the Gang: ‘Celebrate good times – come on!’

“On the Hoe: drink by all means but don’t be an idiot. We’ve got special powers, not X-ray vision, but something worse – the power to take booze off people misbehaving.

“The police and Covid marshals will be everywhere, so no funny business.

“Wear a mask if you go inside to use the toilet. Keep your distance or you could be asked to leave.

“Don’t move the tables – they are kept apart for social distancing. No snogging or hugging outside your household – you don’t know where they’ve been...”
