Not the time for point scoring over curtains

-

I, like most voters in the country, do not care about who paid for decorating Boris’s flat.

He holds, after the Queen, the second most important position in the country. If he worked for a multinational company, his flat would have been decorated to the best possible standard as befits his role. A place fit to entertain all the world leaders who we need to help rebuild our country. To quote Maggie Thatcher and her Falklands speech, let us rejoice that we are fortunate to have vaccinated over half of the country against Covid and with any luck and hard work we are starting to emerge from a very grim 12 months. A marked contrast to Europe and the disaster that is happening in India.

There is still lots to do! So let’s support our Prime Minister, the marvellous NHS and our business leaders, plus all the small businesses that have been on the brink of disaster.

It is time for us all to pull together, weather what has been a very traumatic storm and make sure we are better prepared for the next life threatening event!

This is not the time to score political points over trivial matters.

We need a strong Government but we also need a strong Opposition which is something that has been lacking for a very long time.

An Opposition that is prepared to work with the Government and concentrate on the things that really matter and put the Great back into Great Britain.

Next week’s elections should be a resounding victory for common sense by voters, who will vote for the things that matter in our lives like the NHS, the economy and the environment. Anything else will surely herald a return to boom and bust and policies that sold our gold on a rising market.
