WHAT THEY SAY
The reality is we will not be recognising the Taliban any time in the foreseeable future, but I think there is an important scope for engagement and dialogue – Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.
What I would also say is 16 to 17-year-olds are eligible, they have been approved, they are a very important group for potential transmission. I would urge all 16 to 17-year-olds, everybody who knows 16 to 17-year-olds – the numbers are coming up very fast now, it is very encouraging to see more and more 16 to 17-year-olds taking the jab – but we need to go faster with those – Boris Johnson on Covid vaccination.
Families around the world are being overwhelmed by mass-scale misinformation across news media and social media, where those who peddle in lies and fear are creating vaccine hesitancy, which in turn leads to divided communities and eroding trust – The Duke of Sussex.
Strenuous efforts are being made to link supply issues to Brexit. In this case the main link relates to industrial action, Brexit gave the power to the UK Government to allow more HGV drivers in, should it choose to do so – Wetherspoon founder Tim Martin plays down the role of Brexit-related driver shortages after the pub chain was hit by beer supply issues.
It was a comment that would have been unacceptable in any context, but in the context of what we are discussing right now I am deeply aggrieved that any member thought that was an appropriate thing to say – First Minister Nicola Sturgeon after Tory MSP Tess White heckled her to suggest English people were not welcome to make Scotland their home.
My comments during First Minister’s Questions were over the line and I would like to withdraw them – Tess White apologises for her heckle.
