We must increase renewable energy

-

THE Governor of the Bank of England says that it is the large increase in fossil fuel energy prices that will lead to further high inflation, a serious recession and massive profits for fossil fuel energy companies.

The building of Hinkley Point Power station was started in 2017. EDF energy is predicting that it will not be finished until 2027 and then will only produce power at twice the price of alternative green energy.

Fossil fuel power stations also take a long time to build and generate C02 emissions which contribute to global warming.

Yet we have a relatively easy solution. We need to dramatically and rapidly increase the supply of renewable energy.

Onshore wind turbines provide electricity at about half the cost of fossil fuel power stations and they can be installed in less than six months.

Domestic solar panels and heat pumps can be installed in less than a week.
