Two arrests after man stabbed in robbery

TWO teenagers have been arrested after a man was stabbed during a robbery in Swindon.

Police were called after a man suffered stab wounds to his arms and legs on Loxley Walk in South Park on Thursday.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The incident happened shortly before 10.30am.

Police say a grey and blue electric bike was taken during the incident.

Now, two 17-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. One of them was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

Both have been released on bail. Police believe more people may have been involved in the incident.

Detective sergeant James Rodrigues, of Wiltshire Police, said: “Officers take reports of incidents of this nature extremely seriously and we understand the shock and upset it has caused in the local community.

“Officers worked tirelessly overnight to identify two individual­s who have now been arrested in connection with the incident but we believe more individual­s were involved.”
