HEREFORD FC are to hold a minute’s silence for a teenager who died after entering the sea in Skegness.

Kacper Biela was a talented footballer who recently joined the Herefordshire Football Association/Hereford FC Boys Development Centre.

The 13-year-old represented Hereford FC while at Riverside Primary School in the National League Trust School Under-11s finals at Bath City.

In a statement, Hereford FC said that the club’s thoughts and condolences go out to his family, friends and everyone affected.

There will be a minute’s silence today ahead of Hereford’s National League North match against Buxton at Edgar Street.

Three of Kacper’s friends will also be doing a bucket collection to raise funds for the family, who want to hold his funeral in Poland. More than £6,000 has so far been raised for the family via an online fundraising page.

Kacper also used to play for Hereford Pegasus and was a member of the victorious Under-14 team that won the league and cup double last season

“Kacper joined the club at the tender age of five and quickly developed into an excellent player, dominating games from midfield,” said club chairman Kevin Bishop.

“Kacper was a lovely boy on and off the pitch, and a credit to his family and club.”

Kacper died after entering the sea in Skegness, Lincolnshire, last Saturday evening.

Following an extensive search from the police, coastguard and lifeboat crews, his body was recovered at around 11.30pm. Lincolnshire Police is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
