Pride and Prejudice property on market
A WILTSHIRE country estate made famous as Elizabeth Bennett’s home in TV’s Pride and Prejudice is on the market for £6 million.
The Grade II-listed Luckington Court comes with original Tudor features.
In 1995, Luckington Court had exteriors and interiors used to showcase Longbourn, the Bennet family home, in the BBC’s TV series Pride and Prejudice, which starred Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.
It was even once rumoured to become the family residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
And the royal connections don’t end there. Local history of the surrounding area places Luckington Court on the site of a manor owned by King Harold II before 1066 who was killed that year in the Battle of Hastings.
Now listed via Woolley & Wallis, the listing says the property comprises the main house, with eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms as well as an integral flat and separate selfcontained annexe accommodation.
Five cottages, alongside a 17thcentury dovecote and traditional farm buildings, make up the estate.
The house is set in 156 acres of countryside, in the tiny village of Luckington, a few miles west of Malmesbury.
