We live in interesting times and opinions

“THAT was the week that was”. A few days that have changed the perspective of UK for ever. Firstly, we have the departure of Boris Johnson after standing down as PM. Swiftly followed by the acceptance by HM Queen Elizabeth II of our next incumbent, Liz Truss.

Two days later, our loyal Queen “crossed the bar”. From Churchill to Truss, our monarch remained neutral, impartial, advisory, totally respected – even if that didn’t always apply to the PMs in office.

As a previous “boss” during service with the RN, she was always our Patron and Supreme Commander. RIP Ma’am! Together with the late Duke of Edinburgh, your reign was inspirational.

However, the recent comment by Jeremy Comerford in Wiltshire, takes a bit of swallowing! Boris can make a comeback? Really? We are comparing a true statesman in Churchill to that of a mop-haired attention seeking buffoon! Do get real, Jeremy.

The future monarchy is sound and secure with King Charles III, William and George. Sadly, that is not quite so secure with Liz Truss and the political future over the next two years and beyond.
