Using ‘Covid’ is no longer a valid excuse

I KNOW that lot of companies have genuinely bitten the dust because of Covid and the cost of living crisis, so what I write below is not about them. These have been affected because of knock-on problems.

What I am writing about are the big companies using Covid as an excuse.

Stagecoach is the latest to use it. The firms with good pay and bonuses. I am sick and tired of the Covid excuse being trotted out every time something goes wrong. Did they not have a ‘plan B’ or a contingency back-up plan? They have workers depending on them. It just shows how dysfunctional and disorganised this country was before the pandemic hit. We must have been sailing so close to the wind, so badly, that any crisis would be the ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’. The rot had set in years ago.

We are still not ready for any further crisis. While we are thrashing around we never will be. We are lurching from one crisis to another.
