Town’s £16m new complex to open

-

A £16 million regeneration project in the heart of Bridgwater town centre will finally open its doors to the public during the October half term.

Sedgemoor District Council and its contractor Willmott Dixon have been working to deliver the Northgate Yard complex on Mount Street, which will see a new cinema, bowling alley, restaurants and green space delivered on the former car park near to the town’s Celebration Mile.

The new cinema, operated by Scott Cinemas, and the improved Brewery Field park and children’s play area will officially open to the public on October 21, just in time for the school half term break.

The All Star Sports bowling alley and four restaurants will open early next year. The cinema can seat more than 700 people across seven screens.

The revamped Brewery Field provides improved parkland and urban wetlands, as well as a large children’s play area and improved pedestrian and cycle links.
