£2,000 jump for half-term family break
Families planning a half-term break could pay £2,000 more for flights than before the pandemic.
Two adults and two children flying from Heathrow to Tenerife will shell out £262 more each way than in 2019, totalling £2,096.
Which? compared the average price of return flights to six popular destinations – Malaga, Alicante, Antalya, Dubai, Dublin and Tenerife – from England’s busiest airports.
Overall, prices have increased by an average of 42% compared with pre-pandemic fares. Heathrow saw the sharpest rises.
Guy Hobbs, from Which?, said: “With fares so high, it’s even more important that airports and airlines are held to account for the disruption travellers have faced.”
