Johnson ‘duped’ the DUP over Brexit

-

LISTENING to the tone of the Northern Ireland Assembly today, it is clear that the Peace Agreement is seriously at risk, with all the dangers that entails for Irish people.

This depressing state of affairs is of course as a direct result of Brexit.

Boris Johnson “duped” the DUP when blatantly lying to them, that there would be no border down the Irish Sea as part of his Brexit Agreement, and they could trust him that no added “red tape” would interfere with goods and people moving from UK mainland to Northern Ireland and vice-versa.

We all know that this could never be the case and that the whole Northern Ireland situation was conveniently glossed over to satisfy ardent “Brexiteers”.

The Peace Agreement was signed in good faith expecting the UK to remain within the EU.

Yet more self-inflicted pain, along with a 4% drop in trade between the UK and EU countries, our biggest trading partners, and all at a time when the UK needs all the advantages and good news it can get.
