The list was compiled by Tesco. Anne Borrett, the supermarke­t’s toys category manager, explained: “We know times are really hard at the moment.

“So our team of experts have created a list based on a number of factors that will not only put a smile on kids’ faces but also parents’ and carers’.

“There are toys for all budgets but more than half are priced between £30 and £45.”
