The brewery said: “The Crown, Devizes is reopening next week. Wadworth welcomes Rob, Jayden and their team to the Wadworth family”.

The pub is close to the Kennet and Avon Canal.

The Crown announced on April 5 that it had taken the difficult decisell sion to close, after being taken over by new management in June 2021.

In a Facebook post, a statement was made by Sarah, Simon and Eve who ran the pub. They said: “To all of our customers and supporters, we are extremely saddened to announce that we have taken the difficult decision to close the Crown.

“As many of you know, we took on a huge unloved building, cleaned, decorated and breathed live into it! Over the past months, we have made huge strides, however, nobody could have predicted the terrible events of the past months, all of which have had a huge impact on us.”
